With garb that not only wonderfully resembles the comic incarnations of the character, it also appears to draw upon the Tibetan style; a possible nod to that of the Doctor’s possible training grounds!

A cover shot shows the Doctor’s magic in action while also allowing the audience to see that he has his classic greyed sides; He also has his classic high-collared Cloak Of Levitation (yes, that is a thing in the comics) and what appears to be the Eye Of Agamotto necklace, a mystical artifact that grants the wielder powers of the light.

“These gestures are ways of creating the magic. It’s a beautiful thing, it’s balletic, it’s very dynamic”

– Benedict Cumberbatch (EW)

They also give us some concept art showing off the Sanctum Santorum, a literal townhouse in Greenwich Village, New York, which the Doctor uses not only as a home, but as an area to refine his mystic art.

It honestly looks like the greatest apartment one could hope to own in these modern times, especially in New York!

Following that is art of the event that leads Stephen Strange (yes, ‘strange’ is literally his last name) on the journey to learn the mystic arts.

The concept art finishes with this psychedelic piece of what appears to be Stephen starting his journey.

Marvel Studios’ Producer Kevin Feige says “When this comic appeared in the early ’60s, it really informed, in a way that is pretty amazing, a lot of the psychedelic ’60s as we know it. I don’t know that they were doing anything weird in the bullpen in Marvel, but certainly the stuff they were doing inspired all those people who were doing mind-expansion experiments at the time,”

Following the always clear guidelines they’ve set for their universe, Feige finishes with a detail related to the above that shows this movie is definitely in the right hands:

“So, that’s inherent to the property. And that’s our mission statement for the visual effects on this movie.”
