A New Zealand man from Christchurch scaled to the top of an active volcano to roast a marshmallow and have a cold beer.
Yes, that’s the story.
The daredevil named Simon Turner made a 400 meter descent to the Marcum Crater in Ambrym, Vanuatu and edged toward the lava lake and temperatures of more than 1,000 °C.
“It ended up being one of the most perfectly-cooked marshmallows I have ever tasted”, says Turner, clearly pleased that his life-threatening expedition to roast his marshmallow was worth it,
“Perfect and crusty on the outside without being burned – it had just the right amount of a gooey centre but without getting it all over your fingers”.
