On the day that Fallout 4 launched, traffic to Pornhub dropped by 10%.
It started immediately upon estimated download completion – with porny gamers eager to swap one abysmal faux-reality for another, as soon as Fallout 4 was ready to go, so, uh, were they. But Pornhub need not worry; users returned in force about 18 hours later to complete quests of another kind.
Over on Steam, Fallout 4 set a launch day record for most concurrent users outside of a Valve game – 470,000.
12 million units of the game were shipped in 24 hours. The last game from Bethesda – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – shipped 7 million copies in 48 hours.
Twitch went mental. Bethesda says that the game now holds the title of “the most viewed game launch of the year on Twitch” – although they won’t reveal any hard numbers.
So here’s to Bethesda – looks like they have yet another winner with Fallout 4.
