Yana Alana – Between The Cracks: A Cracker Of A Show

YANA

If you live in Auckland and didn’t know that it’s Cabaret Season, I’d like to let you know it’s Cabaret Season.

This means you may have an idea about the show I was lucky enough to see last night starring Yana Alana, Australia’s very own Diva Extraordinaire! (By their words, not hers in this case)

The feather ruffler, rabble rouser, cabaret provocateur is a One Woman Army (including Jo, her pianist) who devastates the stage with grand musical numbers, jokes to make your parents faint and some (a lot of) nudity to keep you awake and aware the whole time.

Sifting through the audience with the spotlight adoringly on her the whole time, Yana embraces confidence like a bear trap and never lets go, with her songs anecdotal in their delivery around sex, love and drugs.
Witty repartee splendidly spoken; while she tries to make you feel uncomfortable, you’ll in-fact feel at home like she’s a best friend spilling surreptitious thought after a glass of wine.

Political and real, the 60 minute show will leave the crack on your face wider than ever before as Yana Alana guides you through her world.

When she drags you across the finish line, you’ll wonder how time went so fast and why it had to end.

You can purchase tickets for Yana’s final show tonight here!
