Flume Can Fly

Flume Fly

I do love a good Flume tune – the Australian DJ and Producer returns with his new music video and it’s pretty rad.

In the video for his new single “Some Minds”, Flume tours the Sydney Opera House in a very surreal / existential way, drifting in mid-air around its interior. The song features the vocals of Andrew Wyatt from Swedish indie-pop band Miike Snow (“Miike” is pronounced as ‘Me-ee-keh’, by the way).

The song itself is beautiful – textured with a smooth drum beat, a hollow howl and layered with mellow, ethereal vocals that strum your heart strings.

Things have been pretty crazy for 23-year-old Harley Streten since the release of his 2012 ‘self-titled’ debut album Flume, having won four ARIA music awards (including Breakthrough Artist, Best Male Artist, Best Dance Artist, Producer of the Year) in 2013, all while managing to play sold-out shows and festivals across the globe. Credit should also be given to his 2013 Flume: Deluxe Edition, a Spotify exclusive album with a hefty 34 tracks that are ‘all killer, no filler’, worthy enough to make a second album.

I think I’m gonna add this to my ‘chill workday’ playlist – it’s definitely one for driving in the car, too. If this new song is anything to go by then I think we’re in for a treat. Give it a watch / listen:
